On February 12, 2013, Qatar celebrated National Sports Day at a grand scale attracting local community and sporting individuals.
National Sports Day is an initiative adopted by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent who issued the Emiri Decree No. 80 for the year 2011 on 06 December 2011, concerning the State's National Sports Day. The power of sport to change the lives of young people was demonstrated by the eloquent and passionate contributions of two young people from London who participated in a discussion called “Values II: The Next Generation" during Doha Goals Forum.
Both are Young Ambassadors in a program launched by the Youth Sport Trust as part of the legacy efforts surrounding the 2012 London Olympic Games.
